Jennifer Ockwell was named head of institutional for Octopus Investments, the firm said Tuesday.

Octopus Investments manages £3.4 billion ($4.6 billion) for institutional investors, specializing in alternative investments in renewable energy, real estate lending and development, health care and venture capital.

It is a new position, said Octopus spokeswoman Jessica Vallance, in an email.

Ms. Ockwell will be based in London and report to Octopus CIO Jonathan Digges. She will be responsible for coordinating Octopus’ global institutional strategy as it expands offerings to institutional investors.

Most recently Ms. Ockwell was head of institutional at Triple Point, a London-based investment manager focused on impact investments in areas such as social housing, digital infrastructure, energy and venture capital. She has also held institutional fundraising roles with Franklin Templeton and Janus Henderson, where she served as head of U.K. institutional.

Ms. Ockwell is a trustee for the Diversity Project, an organization helping charities meet social mobility, diversity and inclusivity goals.

Octopus co-founder Chris Hulatt said in a news release that the firm “has ambitious plans to provide global institutional investors with a range of investment strategies that deliver both significant financial returns and meaningful environmental and social impacts.”
