Nefaz to produce new bus models, invest 150 mln rubles

UFA. Aug 24 (Interfax) – Neftekamsky Avtozavod (Nefaz) , a division of Russian truck maker Kamaz in Bashkortostan, plans to set up production of a new model of passenger buses, Bashkir Prime Minister Andrei Nazarov said on its Telegram page.

“Nefaz will develop and serially produce up to 1,000 passenger buses of the new 42XX model line per year with an investment of 149 million rubles,” he said after attending the International Moscow Automobile Forum.

Nazarov also said that a project costing about 1.5 billion rubles will be implemented with Kamaz at the Master industrial park in Tuimazy.

He was referring to the industrial park that the region decided in the fall of 2021 to establish at the property of Kamaz’s Tuimazy Cement Truck Plant (TZA) that has been cleared of manufacturing operations. It was also decided at the time to form a management company 51% owned by Kamaz and 49% by the Bashkortostan Republic Development Corporation. The republic is expected to provide a subsidy of 650 million rubles to rehabilitate the property for the creation of the industrial park.

As part of the Master industrial park project there are plans to build 24,000 square meters of manufacturing facilities and offices. The park is expected to have an anchor resident in a plant that produces semi-trailers and trailer equipment, and up to nine other residents.

Nefaz manufactures dump trucks and other bodies on Kamaz chassis, semi-trailers and trailers, and various types of tanks. Kamaz owns 50.02% of Nefaz and Bashkortostan’s JSC Regional Fund owns 28.5%, according to a list of affiliates as of the second half of 2021.
