Belarus receives $7 bln of foreign investments in 2022, mainly from Russia — statistics

MINSK, February 13. /TASS/. The real sector of the Belarusian economy received $7 billion dollars of foreign investment in 2022, mainly from Russia, the National Statistical Committee of Belarus reported on Monday.

“In 2022, foreign investors invested $7 billion in the real sector of the economy. The mains investors in the enterprises of the republic were business entities from the Russian Federation (56.1% of all investments received), Cyprus (14.7%), the Netherlands (4.1%) and Ukraine (2.9%),” the statement says.

Foreign direct investment amounted to $6 billion, or 85.4% of all incoming foreign investment.

In 2022, Belarusian entities sent investments worth $6.3 billion abroad. Of these investments 87% were transferred to business entities in Russia, but also to Ireland (2.4%) and Kazakhstan (1.6%).
