Gold prices dipped on May 9 amid rising geopolitical uncertainties and strengthening dollar. Gold’s June contracts on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) opened at Rs 96,020 per 10 gram today.

“Sentiment turned negative following the announcement of a US-UK trade agreement, which bolstered the US Dollar Index above the key 100 level, typically bearish for bullion. Additionally, heightened geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan have added to market uncertainty, suggesting that volatility in gold may persist in the near term,” said Axis Securities in its latest report.
