Tim Walz Promises Not To Mock Tesla Stock If Elon Musk Does Just 1 Thing

Tim Walz seems to have hurt Elon Musk’s feelings recently, but he’s willing to make things right with the Tesla mogul ― there’s just one catch.

During a recent town hall in Wisconsin, the Minnesota governor joked that he checks his phone to see if Tesla stocks are plummeting whenever he needs “a little boost during the day.”

Although Walz later walked back his comments during another town hall in Minnesota last week, he admitted that Musk “bugs me in a way that’s probably unhealthy.”

He also said he has to “be careful about being a smartass” because “these people have no sense of humor,” but conceded that he “said something I probably shouldn’t have about a company.”

Musk still seems bothered by Walz’ mockery.

During an interview Friday with Fox News, Musk whined that Walz ― whom he called “a huge jerk” ― seemed “overjoyed” that Tesla’s stock price was half of what it had been.

“What an evil thing to do—what a creep, what a jerk. Like, who derives joy from that?” he said before asking rhetorically, “Does that sound like a good person to you? I don’t think so.”

On Sunday night, Walz attempted to broach a truce with Musk and promised not to mock Tesla stock drops any more, that is, if Musk did something in return.

Elon, I’ll make you a deal. I’ll stop making fun of your stock when you take your hands off social security.”

Walz followed up that post with another a short time later where he attempted to get Musk to understand why many Americans are worried that his Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, efforts will destroy their social security benefits.

As of Monday afternoon, Musk has not responded to Walz’ grand bargain.
